VIRTUAL DERMSHOP
Frequently Asked Questions

HOW IT WORKS

Who is responsible for sales tax?

The patient will be responsible for paying the sales tax at checkout. APGSM Marketplace LLC, an affiliate of Skin Medicinals, is considered a marketplace facilitator for third-party sales made through Skin Medicinals' Virtual DermShop. As a result, Skin Medicinals, through APGSM Marketplace LLC, is required to collect and remit tax directly to the tax authorities as a marketplace facilitator for third-party sales facilitated through Skin Medicinals' Virtual DermShop portals. A marketplace facilitator connects buyers and sellers to help facilitate the sale of goods and services. State law requires marketplace facilitators to collect and directly remit tax to taxing authorities on sales made through the marketplace.

Can I order products for in-office sales?

Your Virtual DermShop is completely virtual including the inventory; therefore, patients exclusively purchase SM Skincare products through the SM patient portal. This feature allows providers to lessen the burden on themselves or their office staff when it comes to inventory and sales tracking.

Do I have to manually restock my inventory?

No - we've got it covered! Once your Virtual DermShop product inventory drops below 3, we will automatically replenish your inventory back up to 5. Payment for this replenishment will be taken from the card used to purchase initial inventory and saved on your account.

Are there any monthly fees or credit card fees that I am responsible for?

There is no monthly fee required to open a Virtual DermShop; However, Tilled will charge the following processing fees per transaction as outlined in the template below:

  • Monthly Account Fee: $0.00
  • Processing Fee: 3.5%

Each transaction processed through your Tilled merchant account will incur a fee of 3.5% of the total charge amount (including tax), which will be taken out before the funds settle in your bank account (unless voided)

  • Retrieval Fee: $30.00

Charged when a customer's bank requests additional information in order to verify a transaction. This is not a recurring fee and will only apply in the event of a retrieval.

  • Chargeback Fee: $30.00

ONBOARDING HELP

Which Business Entity would I fall under for my Tilled Merchant Account?

To determine your business entity type, you should determine whether you have formed a separate legal entity and look at the formation documents to determine the correct legal entity. If you do not have a legal entity, you are most likely a sole proprietor. You should consult an accountant to determine the business type best for you but we have provided some general guidelines on the different types of entities:

  • Sole Proprietor - An unincorporated business with one owner. There is no legal separation between the company and the owner.
  • LLC - A limited liability company is a hybrid between a partnership and a corporation. You can think of an LLC as a hybrid between a partnership and a corporation. Business owners are called members, and an LLC can be formed by one or multiple members.
  • Partnership - A partnership is a business form where two or more individuals agree to operate as co-owners but is not a separate legal entity.
  • LLP - A limited liability partnership is a formal structure. that offers the partners at least some legal protection from the partnerships' liabilities. LLPs are common among licensed professionals who aren't allowed to form LLCs in some states. An LLP requires a minimum of two partners.
  • Corp - Unlike an LLC, a corporation is an incorporated entity and is owned by shareholders, not members.
